Actress Barbara Windsor MBE recently launched an emergency fundraising appeal to repair damage caused by land subsidence in the gardens of St Paul's Church. Burial vaults under the centuries-old gardens are crumbling causing the paving stones to sink. The appeal seeks to raise £100,000 for the works over the coming months. Once repaired, the whole area will be renamed the ‘Diamond Jubilee Gardens’, in honour of another great Windsor, HM The Queen, who visited the church in 1988. The church urgently needs the assistance of generous donors to ensure this iconic oasis in the heart of London can continue to be enjoyed by generations to come. People wishing to donate to the appeal can find information on the church’s website.
