Magic beans
Everyone has been to an unambitious coffee shop churning out green cups of insipid brown water, but for a taste revolution, come to Covent Garden Market. Andronicas is new to Covent Garden and offers freshly-roasted beans to suit every palate. We all have slightly different opinions of the perfect cup; Andronicas realises this and offers selections from across the world including the unique Hawaiian Kona beans which have been cultivated on the volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa and the Rolls Royce of coffee: Jamaica Blue Mountain. As well as offering cases to be enjoyed at home, you can pick up a proper cup of coffee to take out as you explore all that Covent Garden has to offer.
The Pleasure and The Playing
Our area has proud links to the theatre and street performance, so this month, Covent Garden London has joined forces with ROH2 at the Royal Opera House to bring Pleasure’s Progress live to the cobbles of the East Piazza. The production features A Harlot’s Progress which takes inspiration from Hogarth’s famous series of engravings depicting the journey into debauchery of various characters in Georgian London. There will be four performances on the northeast Piazza between Friday 9 and Saturday 10 July at 19.00 and 21.00. The performances are free and unticketed, so you just need to turn up.
