AUSTRALIA SHOP has been in the Strand/Covent Garden area for over 35 years. It started its life in Canberra House, WC2, from where it moved to a tiny shop in the Savoy area of the Strand, and was named The Australian Gift Shop.
In 1994 it was taken over by Elizabeth and Michael Mills who formed the Anglo-Australian Trading Company Limited. After a major refurbishment programme, it re-opened its doors in July of that year as the new AUSTRALIA SHOP. At that site, it continued to grow and expand its product range, but eventually outgrew the space and a decision was taken to move into the prestigious Covent Garden area in Henrietta Street in 1998. At this point, an application was made for a liquor licence so that AUSTRALIA SHOP could stock the one and only Bundaberg Rum along with different beers from various States of Australia. It now has one of the largest ranges of interesting Australian beers, all available in-store.
