Printmakers at work
Art fans can now discover the world of woodcuts, linocuts and etchings at an exhibition organised by St. Martin-in-the-Fields. The Southbank Printmakers Gallery is situated just over the river from Covent Garden at Gabriel’s Wharf and the entrance is free.
The exhibition is small but offers high quality prints from 37 of Britain’s leading contemporary printmakers. All exhibits are originals and limited editions and include different techniques such as lithographs, mezzotints or monoprints. The exhibition in the gallery is rehung every nine weeks with new, framed work. Unframed prints are available in the gallery as well. A special part of the exhibition is Artist in Focus. Currently Gail Brodholt is presenting her prints focused on urban landscapes. By using bright colours and significant elements from the landscape Gail Brodholt perfectly describes the mood of London.
St. Martin-in-the-Fields is hosting an attractive exhibition not to be missed by art fans interested in printmakings.
