The phases of works for the Victorian Mains Replacement project in a street are:
➢ Phase One: New water mains installation. Road closures and/or parking suspensions may be required.
➢ Phase Two: Customer Service Transfers on to the new network. In some cases parking suspensions may be required.
➢ Phase Three: This involves the abandonment of the old water network and any associated remedial works which may also require parking suspensions.
When the 'Open Cut Trenching' is being used, there is a period between phases one and two where no works will take place on the newly installed water pipe (this is due to the testing, chlorination, sampling and commissioning process), whereas Insertion and Pipe Bursting will usually incorporate phases one and two.
Each site area should wholly incorporate the excavations required.
