Ambassador Theatre Group is Making a Difference

Ambassador Theatre Group have been busy making a difference to the community and environment by introducing and participating in schemes to bring about a positive change. Ambassador Theatre Group are planning to launch a new series of workshops especially designed to give an industry insight for schools and university students. The workshops will be starting in autumn and hosted at Trafalgar Studios, which means attendees will have the chance to work on a stage. Youngsters will have the opportunity to experience an application of a subject such as Drama. Barry Grant (Ambassador Theatre Group Sales & Development Manager) commented: “The West End Workshops are a great example of the kind of educational opportunities that exist for students and because the workshops take place within the venue, they should help give students a real insight into the industry.”

As part of an ongoing project to put something back into the community, Ambassador Theatre Group has also just joined thousands of individuals and organisations from across the country to cut a massive 10% in carbon emissions during 2010. Since it was recently estimated that the London theatre industry creates 50,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, Ambassador Theatre Group’s contribution will certainly help the initiative. Phillip Brown (Ambassador Theatre Group Head of Safety and Enviromental Services) said : “We have made excellent in-roads into reducing our carbon emissions over the past few years by looking at energy consumption and waste reduction and I hope that the new 10:10 initiative, with support from our venue Enviro Champions, will ensure that Ambassador Theatre Group continue to tackle this problem and make further environmental improvements during 2010”.

Ambassador Theatre Group are also looking forward to the takeover of 14 new theatres strategically placed around London, which will also include Apollo where Wicked is currently being performed. We wish them luck with this new expansion.
